1. Compression continues until the free electrons
in the core are forced to combine with
the protons in the core to form a core of only neutrons. |
2. These neutrons are then compressed until they
generate a “neutron degenerate” pressure that act similarly to electron
degenerate pressure. |
3. Stars that cannot overcome this pressure
end their lives as “Neutron Stars”. |
4. Neutron stars have a strong magnetic
field that can pulse as observed from Earth
due to their rotation. This is similar to a lighthouse. |
